Jim’s career has been devoted to helping and assisting owner managed businesses and entrepreneurs to find value added solutions. He has been practicing taxation in mid-market public accounting firms for over thirty years now, as both a Principal and a Partner, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in taxation matters, concentrating on tax advisory and implementation of tax planning strategies for private corporations and their shareholders. Jim specializes in executing tax minimization planning strategies for both private corporations and individuals, where Jim has often added substantial value through implementation of well envisioned estate plans for shareholders and high net worth individuals.
In addition, his practice also covers tax compliance and additional planning areas, including corporate tax reporting, partnership structure planning and reporting, personal tax plans and compliance, cross-border strategies, commodity tax (GST/HST) filings and issues, and CRA disputes. Jim’s takes pride in providing clients with thoughtful options, alternatives, guidance and solutions that will allow clients to have trust and peace of mind in challenging times.
Jim played hockey at the junior and university level, as a goalie, and is an avid follower of hockey today. As such, Jim lives and dies with his Canadiens, being born in Montreal. Jim also enjoys participating in other sports including badminton, and golf, while following baseball, and football. In his spare time Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and family, enjoying movies, restaurants, and vacations.
